Disability in case of accident

Non-integrated monthly benefit paid from the date of your first medical consultation. Triggered by an accident causing hospitalization, fracture, dismemberment, major burn, or major laceration. No waiting period. Works whether employed or not.

⚠️ Exclusions include: self-inflicted injury, war, criminal acts, driving impaired, racing, sports for compensation, cosmetic surgery, pregnancy/childbirth, illness. Disability must begin within 90 days of accident or it is deemed illness. Recurrent disabilities within 7 months of the same accident count as one period. Claims: notify insurer within 30 days of loss, submit full evidence within 90 days, absolute deadline 365 days.

AD&D — Accidental death, dismemberment or loss of use

Lump-sum paid to you or your beneficiary if an accident causes death, loss of a limb, sight, hearing, or speech. Loss must occur within 365 days of the accident.

Accidental fracture

Lump-sum benefit based on which bone was fractured. Must be confirmed by X-ray and radiologist's report within 30 days of the accident.

⚠️ Multiple fractures in one accident — only the highest-value fracture is paid. Cannot combine with AD&D for the same injury. Avulsion and chip fractures are excluded. Must be diagnosed within 30 days. Benefits reduced to 50% from age 70.

Extended medical care after an accident

Reimburses medically necessary expenses incurred in Canada within 12 months of the accident, at 100% with no deductible — on top of what your provincial plan covers.
